Facing the Past

A few days after Flurry had left, Lily was slowly recovering from the Nightshade poison that was put inside her body by Shadyfur. Kai often lies by her, ignoring the hiss and growls from other hybrids. Zeve and Maya discuss the growing threat from the dark hybrids, while Windy teaches Leo how to shoot arrows from long distance. Bruce often sit by the window, staring out into snowy view, wondering if Karl is alright. Everything was quiet and calm, despite the growing fear that arose from the students that are hiding.

“Zeve, we need to let the students go back home, both here and back at the warehouse. They are not safe with us anymore.” Maya explained, as she looked up from her notes. Zeve looked around at the teenagers who were huddling around the room, he sighed.“ I agreed. I’ll send my general to gather some soldiers to sent the students back home.” He agreed. Maya looked at him in surprised. " You have a general? Who is the general?” she asked, tilting her head sideways. " I chose my general the day after Lily was….. attacked. The new general is Lily, your sister.” he explained, glancing over to Lily who looked up in surprise. “What?! But why?”Leo stuttered, accidentally shooting an arrow that almost pinned Windy’s tail to the wall. “For a long time I have noticed that she has a strong leadership, even when others command her to do something else. She has faced many dangers and always come out stronger then the last one, that’s way I’ve chose her.” Zeve muttered, not noticing Windy’s mad face at Leo. " I see. Well, Lily. Are you strong enough to do this job?” Maya asked, turning her head to Lily, who was rising up from her bed with the help of Kai. “Sure…. if you let Kai come with me.” Lily replied, giving Kai a lick on his cheek. Kai looked at Maya and Zeve nervously, kneeing the ground with his front paws. Maya glanced at Lily, who gave her a an innocent smile and sighed. “Fine. But if things go wrong with him around, I’m blaming you.” Maya agreed. “Are you sure? we only know him for only two week, plus he used to be a scout for the dark army! He can use this to reveal our plans to Varian.” Zeve explained, pointing to Kai. “ True enough. I don’t blame you for not not trusting him. But he just…. left his own kind to rescue Lily and i want to give people who used to be bad a second chance. Remember Windy?” Maya answered, pointing to him with her tail. “ When he was younger, he used to be a dark hybrid.” Zeve glanced at Windy. “ That was before Varian betray us. This is different. He joined Varian right after the giants attacked. How can i be sure that this isn’t a trick?” Zeve muttered, looking away. Maya looked up and sighed. “ Then it’s up to the creator to show his true color to use when the time comes. I hope you can accept him one day, after all, he is like us. Only darker.” she muttered. Zeve glance back at Kai and sighed. "Fine, but if he takes one look at my portal device, i'm going to shredding him to pieces."

Meanwhile inside Kidder Corp, " I wonder how’s Karl doing? I haven’t seen him since Adam changed him.”Flappy muttered, drinking coffee upside down. " The twin took Karl to the Chamber so he can get used to his new… form.” Mag explained, looking up at Flappy. “Careful with your fangs, i don’t want any coffee on my new jacket.” he added. Flappy rolled his eyes, not noticing a shadow in the corner.

Flurry was silently watching them as she scrambled passed them, her eyes darting left to right. “Where are you Karl? Which chamber are you in?” she muttered, as she slink passed a sleeping snake boy, careful not to touch his scales. " What Chamber is he in? We have like….. twenty-six Chambers.” Flappy asked, tossing the cup into the trash can, causing a banana peel to fly out and hit Mag in the face. " It’s the same chamber that our first and only creations that was ever made with fur. She fled from the chamber by crashing through the glass dome and we haven’t seen her ever since. And stop tossing trash around the hallway, Flappy. It's not funny.” Mag muttered, glance down a dark hallway that Flurry was hiding. Flurry gasped and pushed against the wall, not daring to breathe. Mag eye’s lingered there for a few more moments before turning back to Flappy, who is now gnawing on a bar. Flurry let out a quiet sigh of relief and sent a silent thank you to the Creator. Then she remembered what he said earlier. " Is this a trap?”she wondered as she slipped into a different hallway. She sniffed the air, looking around to make sure nobody was watching her as she slipped into a different room. the room was filled with buttons and levers of all sizes and shapes and at the far end of the room was a large glass chamber. she rushed toward the chamber, leaping over boxes. “Karl? Are you in there?” she asked, peering through the dark. Two bright green eye appeared in the dark, gazing at her warily. “Who are you? How do you know my name?” A deep voice asked. Then a young teenage boy came out, but he looks….different. He has two black ears and a long tail and she hears the click-click sound of something metallic. He walked up to the glass wall, staring at her blankly. “I’m a friend of Maya. I’m here to rescue you from Adam.” Flurry explained, noticing claw marks on the wall inside the Chamber. “Maya? She sent you to rescue me?” he asked, his ears flatten in disbelief. “How is Bruce? Is he OK?” Karl asked, lifting his hand up to touch the glass wall. Flurry flinched, noticing sharp claws poking out his fingers. “They really changed you, haven’t they?” Flurry muttered. " He used some weird green syrup to change my DNA and now look at me!” Karl exclaimed, thrashing his tail around. “I’m part cat and i don’t know who i am anymore.” Karl grunted frustrated. " That must had been hard for you, but right now we need to get out of here before Adam and the others finds out that I’m here.” Flurry explained, looking around. Then she spotted an Halligan Bar laying nearby, she grabbed it and did a few test swing before nodding to Karl to move away from the glass wall. “Here’s goes nothing.” she grunted and swung the bar as hard as she could. The glass shattered as the bar crashed through it, clearing a way for Karl to get out. Karl leaped out clumpy, trying hard not to trip on his long tail. " Come on. We need to get out of here before the alarm goes off.” Furry muttered, already stalking toward the door. Karl followed her close behind, his eyes darting around nervously. " How did you mange to sneak in here? There are guards everywhere, i saw them while i was… touring the builting.” Karl asked, looking around. “Easy. I flew. And i was... created here as well.” Flurry answered, not turning her head to face him. “W-what? Fox can’t fly. they don’t have wings. And..... you used to be part of this?” Karl stuttered. “That’s correct, however. I’m not a normal Fox. I’m a human-fox that can transform into a falcon, i can soar higher then the clouds and feel the wind in my hair, er, fur. And yes, i was part of this but not anymore.” she explained, looking at a dusty picture of someone flying. “Nice. Here’s another question, are you afraid that you will crash into a jet?” he asked, smiling. But before Flurry can answered his question, " Attention everyone! we have a breakout. I repeat, a breakout! Karl had somehow escape and is heading toward the the entrance. According to my scanners, someone else is with him.” announced the voice. Then the alarm went off.

Meanwhile with Lily and Kai, " Welcome to my….. second hometown, California.” lily explained, as they leaped out of the portal. " It’s much warmer here and….,” Kai reflexes, sniffing the air before wrinkling his nose in disgust. " And it smell of smoke and something stinky.” He added. “That’s because we’re in the city dump. Zeve, you sent us in the wrong place. we need to sent all this students to Glitch’s hideout, not the dump.” Lily yowled, glancing at him. “Sorry. It’s been a while since i use the portal. There are some dings that i need to work on.” Zeve muttered, blushing in embarrassment. “Weird that the portal sent us here.” a student whispered. “You’re not wrong buddy, my remote says that i wrote in the right coordinate.” Zeve explained, his face turning confused. “Who would want to sent us here and not there?” Lily muttered. " I did. Nice to see you again Kai and i see that brought some guest with you as well.” said a silky voice. A skinny looking human-fossa with one eye and an eyepatch appeared behind a broken down car with a dark human-fox beside him. " Stormy?! What are doing here?” Lily explained, her ears flatten in disbelief. The human-fox ignored her. “Where’s Leo? I have a score to settle with him.” Stormy grunted, his yellow ears drilling into her. “Koosa! Did Varian sent you here to do his dirty work?” Kai growled, glaring at the human-fossa. “Well, in fact, yes. He wants you gone, permanently. So here’s your choice, i can take you back to Varian and let him finish you or i can do this.” Koosa explained, twirling his dagger. “I choose nether. Get out of here, or I’ll show you why my name is Kai.” Kai snarled, baring his teeth. “Ha! Are you sure? I heard that Varian had sent a group of our soldiers to your…… hideout in Madison. I believe that they already hit your poor friends and everyone in there, there nowhere for you to go. So let’s acepct your fate and come with me.” Koosa muttered. “The answer is still no.” Lily replied, walking up to Kai’s side. " He. You got a girlfriend now, Kai? No wonder you became so soft, just like Leo.” stormy mumbled, glancing up with mocking eyes. “Knock it off, stormy. It’s none of your business.” Kai grunted, his eyes flashing with anger. “Kids, get to safety now. it’s going to get ugly, go on now.” Zeve whispered, nudging the ones closest to him toward the exit of the dump. The teenagers nodded and started herding the smaller kids toward the direction that Zeve pointed out, quickly vanishing behind large pile crashed cans. Koosa noticed. “Stormy, please deal with our guests that took…. a wrong turn." Koosa ordered. Stormy nodded and stalked toward the students that was already squeezing through a small gap in the fence. "Stay away from them, Stormy. Or i'll give you a clawing that you won't forget. " Zeve growled, stepping in front of them. " I'm just doing my job, just like you. So move!" stormy Grunted, leaping directly at him. Zeve ducked swiftly and grabbed Storm's tail as he flew over him. he gave Stormy's tail quick tug, causing him to fall onto the ground hard. "Yeowl!" stormy screeched, turning his head to Zeve. Stormy bite down hard onto Zeve's hand, causing Zeve lose his grip. "Ow! that hurts." Zeve grunted, licking his wounded hand. "That what you get for nearly tugging my tail off, Mouse Dung!" stormy hissed, backing away. "Your choice, Zeve. Rescue your precious humans? Or save your friends from a certain fate?" Koosa asked, smiling wickedly.
